Fitzsimmons House began as an opportunity to rethink an existing home that was poorly orientated and under-insulated. Through a considered knockdown rebuild, Blackett Homes created a contemporary residence designed around the site, the owners’ lifestyle and their vision for a warm, light-filled home.

Reoriented to maximise northern sunlight, the home combines refined architectural forms, a timeless material palette and a strong connection between indoor and outdoor living. Haymes Paint coatings were used throughout the interior and exterior, applied by painter Scott Wirth to help deliver the clean, consistent finish and long-term performance required across the project.

Product Solutions

Haymes Paint Ultra Premium Interior Expressions Low Sheen was selected for the interior walls throughout Fitzsimmons House, providing Blackett Homes with a durable, high-quality finish suited to the demands of a modern family home.

Its velvety low sheen finish complements the clean architectural detailing and light-filled interiors, while exceptional washability and resistance to marks and stains support long-term performance. Exceptional coverage also helped achieve a consistent finish throughout the home, balancing presentation with the durability expected across a quality residential build.

Haymes Paint Ultra Premium Exterior Solashield was selected for the exterior cladding at Fitzsimmons House, providing a durable finish designed to protect the home against ongoing exposure to the elements.

Its Surface Lock Technology helps repel dirt, dust and mould while providing strong UV defence, helping the exterior maintain its appearance over time. With excellent resistance to fading, cracking and peeling, Solashield provided Blackett Homes with a long-lasting coating solution suited to the architectural cladding and the demands of the Canberra climate.

Haymes Paint Elite Ceiling White was used to create a clean, consistent finish across the Fitzsimmon house's interior ceilings.

Its super flat, high-opacity finish helps minimise light reflection and reduce the appearance of minor surface imperfections, supporting the crisp architectural lines and light-filled spaces throughout the project. Superb coverage and hiding power also helped deliver an even, professional finish across the home.
