I worked with the Haymes family from 2006 to 2022, starting in Bendigo as a trade and industrial BDM. I played a key role in growing Haymes Paint’s presence across Northern Victoria and Southern NSW. Later on, I became National Category Manager for the Ultimate water-based protective coating range, helping introduce and promote it nationally. One of my biggest achievements was developing the Antibac range, an idea I brought to life with the support of the Haymes R and D team. This opened up opportunities with major healthcare facilities, including the Royal Children’s and Royal Melbourne Hospitals. I was also involved in major projects like Melbourne Underground Rail and the restoration of Fortuna Villa in Bendigo, where I worked closely with Heritage Victoria and the National Trust to reproduce original colours and finishes using Haymes products. Throughout my time, I took pride in promoting Haymes Paint’s innovative products, building customer trust, and helping the brand grow. My proudest moment was showing David Haymes the Fortuna Villa project, a highlight in a long and dedicated career.
