What if I didn’t like the colours I put on my wall?

  • Blog post, what if I don’t like the sample colours I’ve chosen? 
  • Look at it at different times of day. Natural light can dramatically change how a colour looks from morning to afternoon and at night under artificial lighting. 
  • Compare it to nearby colours and furnishings. Flooring, benchtops, furniture and even outdoor greenery can influence how a colour is perceived. 
  • Paint a larger sample. Small patches can look very different from a larger area. If possible, paint at least an A3 sized section. 
  • Apply to different walls. Try the colour on different walls in your room.  
  • Identify what's wrong with it. Is it too dark, too light, too warm, too cool, too grey, too bright? Knowing the issue makes it easier to find the right alternative. Try our colour studio to help solve the problem…
