Alongside APMG Painting Services and Thomson Adsett Architects, BlueCrossrecently undertook the task of refurbishing several of their residential care homes across Victoria.

Ultimate Single Pack Anti-Bacterial
High-traffic areas in BlueCross’ facilities needed a paint product that could withstand the daily comings and goings of patients and visitors alike. Haymes Paint Ultimate Single-Pack Anti-Bac paint is a water-based low sheen paint that is mould, mildew, and most importantly, bacteria resistant. 

In a facility that houses immunocompromised people, the anti-bacterial nature of this paint gave added peace of mind in a new, hygiene-conscious world. The benefit of the Haymes Paint Ultimate Single-Pack Anti-Bac paint’s ultra-smooth durable finish is its superior washability, ensuring a clean facility at the wipe of a cloth. 

Another important factor in choosing Haymes Paint Ultimate Single-Pack Anti-Bac paint was its low VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds). As the paint had to be applied as residents and staff members went about their day a low VOC paint was imperative. As the paint is 99% VOC free, there are no lingering fumes or odours.

For long-lasting durability, Haymes PaintUltra PremiumUltratrim was used on all high-touch areas, such as door frames and handrails. 

Used across environments with clinical demands, Haymes Paint Anti-Bac Ultimate Single-Pack paint can be used on prepared brick, concrete, masonry, paper-faced plasterboard, set plaster, timber, and pre-painted surfaces. 

For ease of application, the product can be applied using a spray, roller, or brush application. For larger commercial areas the benefit of a spray application is paramount. Within 20 minutes, the paint is touch dry and additional coats can be applied within 2 hours. For the BlueCross facility, a shortened wait time was crucial as the building was at full capacity whilst the painting was carried out. 

Across the dining and common areas, Haymes Paint Ultra-Premium Expressions was used in the matched colours specified by Thomas Adsett. This product is the ultimate interior paint, with high coverage and enhanced durability. Not only is it a great all-rounder, but this product also has a 7-year mould and mildew protection guarantee, increasing the health and safety of the facility and its residents. 

Once again, the application process is straightforward. Once the surface is properly prepared, the product can be applied using a brush, roller, spray, or airless spray technique. As the product is water-based clean-up is a breeze. Similarly, to the Haymes Paint Anti-Bac Ultimate Single-Pack paint, it is touch dry in 20 minutes, and ready for a second coat in just 2 hours. 

Door frames and handrails require an enamel coating, so they are able to withstand the wear and tear of everyday use. The Haymes Paint Ultra Premium Ultratrim Acrylic Enamel product was used throughout BlueCross on these surfaces. An issue with some enamel paints is their tendency to yellow and their difficulty to apply. The Haymes Paint enamel has the benefit of being both a water-based and non-yellowing formula. The product can be applied using a roller, spray, or brush.

Overall, the BlueCross project was a huge success, with the facility thrilled with the outcome. The lick of paint applied by APMG Painting Services has provided a bright warming and functional solution for the residents, while being hygienic, low maintenance, and Low VOC.
