This multi-residential development balances sustainability, longevity and community connection to create homes designed for long-term living. Located in a highly connected inner-city setting, it offers residents a convenient and enduring place to call home.

Two Sisters is a collection of 14 apartments and townhouses designed to support sustainable, long term living in North Melbourne. Created by Breathe Architects, the development combines thoughtful design with a strong focus on community connection.

Referencing the site's industrial heritage, the building features a distinctive saw tooth brick screen that provides privacy while contributing to its architectural character. The project also transforms a previously underutilised laneway into a landscaped shared space that encourages interaction between residents and the wider community.

The project required a durable, low maintenance coating system that could perform across a range of interior and exterior surfaces while complementing the architectural vision. With sustainability and longevity central to the design approach, the finishes needed to deliver a consistent appearance throughout the development, from private residences to shared communal areas.

Haymes Paint products were specified to support both the aesthetic and performance objectives of the project. Colours from the Haymes Paint x Breathe Palette were selected to create a cohesive visual identity while allowing the brickwork to remain the defining architectural feature.

Haymes Paint Ultra Premium Eggshell was used throughout the interiors for its durable low sheen finish, providing a soft and consistent appearance across apartments, townhouses and shared spaces. Externally, Haymes Paint Ultra Premium Solashield delivers long lasting protection and colour stability suited to the demands of an urban environment.

The result is a cohesive residential development where the paint finish enhances the architecture, adds depth and texture, and helps minimise ongoing maintenance requirements.
