Instructions For Rendering Brickwork
The following is an outline of the process for rendering brickwork:
- Dry clean the wall and lay drop sheets down to protect the surrounding surfaces
- Wet your applicator (such as a lambswool mitt) in water then wring it out
- With the mixer, mix the render for a good consistency, and continue to occasionally mix it throughout the application process
- With your applicator, grab a handful of render and apply it liberally in a circular motion filling in recesses
- For a render finish, use a wet trowel to smooth the surface in a circular motion (make sure you clean your trowel as you go), or leave it as it is for a natural bagged appearanceÂ
- Wait 24 hours before repeating this process for a second coat
You can also watch the rendering brickwork video below for more information and tips on rendering a wall.Â
