The following is an outline of the process for rendering brickwork:

  1. Dry clean the wall and lay drop sheets down to protect the surrounding surfaces
  2. Wet your applicator (such as a lambswool mitt) in water then wring it out
  3. With the mixer, mix the render for a good consistency, and continue to occasionally mix it throughout the application process
  4. With your applicator, grab a handful of render and apply it liberally in a circular motion filling in recesses
  5. For a render finish, use a wet trowel to smooth the surface in a circular motion (make sure you clean your trowel as you go), or leave it as it is for a natural bagged appearance
  6. Wait 24 hours before repeating this process for a second coat
