Bold colours for your home this winter

There is something really special about the transitioning seasons in a country like ours. As we settle into winter and outdoor living become more restricted, we start to bring out the throw rugs and naturally gravitate towards spaces that are warm and cozy.

Here at Haymes, we love working with interior designers and stylists to showcase how colour can bring a home to life. So we couldn’t resist teaming up with Melbourne interiors brand, Fenton & Fenton to welcome the changing of the seasons in their new Fall Collection.

When we think about colours for the winter season, creating a feeling of warmth and place to escape is top of mind. The colour palette used in Fenton & Fenton’s Fall Collection features striking blues and charcoals, teamed with whites, soft greys and dusty pinks.

Colour and Concept Manager at Haymes, Wendy Rennie said perfect colours for winter are combinations that bring both intimacy and warmth to your home.

“Really dark colours, like Haymes Lights Off, offer a sense of an almost cocooning sensibility, making nights at home with the family all the more inviting. Softer neutrals and dusty pinks soften the look and feel of a room, adding a more relaxed vibe for the family to spend time together in, providing a sense of security and protection from the outside elements.”

The striking collection of artwork by Australian artists Annie EveringhamDiana Miller and Megan Grant is showcased against Haymes Lights Off and Aleaha Rose. The bold colours used behind the artwork, adds a sense of depth and retreat to the feel of the room.

The new range by Fenton and Fenton echoes aesthetics from the Art Deco and Mid-Century era. Owner and Creative Director of Fenton & Fenton, Lucy fenton said that for materials this winter it's all about leather.

“Leather in tan and natural, teamed with textural velvets and gorgeous wools and marble in all shades is extremely popular. Brass and copper are still great highlights and hints of metal in glossy black to give it some depth.”
