Green is one of those colours that has a broad appeal. Evocative of day spas, tropical getaways and being outside in the fresh air.
Green hues can lift a space and shift its mood. Stark Beauty is one of three palettes in the new Haymes Colour Forecast, and it seems we’re not the only ones attracted to a green vibe. Pantone’s Colour of the Year for 2017 is Greenery, a shade of green celebrated in Stark Beauty.
Colour is Haymes Pond Moss
Often referred to as nature’s neutrals, green hues are the cornerstone of our Stark Beauty palette, and is our take on having florals and foliage in the home. The crisp, clean and simple colours in the palette are supported by a range of whites with minimal undertones to sit alongside green and retain the sense of freshness, simplicity and vitality within a space.

Any area of the home can work beautifully with green hues, they bring the outdoors into the interior space in a way that is ambiguous and soft. Open plan living areas can be revitalised, whilst a simple home office or study can look and feel incredible by injecting the vibrancy of a green in. Of course, bathrooms with Stark Beauty’s hues are incredibly restful, tranquil spaces.

What we really love about this palette is its versatility. Although the main hero of the palette is Haymes Pond Moss, the palette also encompasses some subtle neutrals such as Haymes Marble Mist and Haymes Bleached Cloth. The neutrals allow the ability to use some of the darker greens like Haymes Green Pepper and Haymes Pond Moss, whilst creating a balanced interior.
When thinking about using green hues, think also about the existing furnishings and even the available natural light in the space. While green is a beautiful colour to incorporate into your surroundings, pairing it with light wood and crisp white furnishings will give some reprieve and an overall restfulness to the space.

In 2017, Pantone named Greenery or Pantone 15-0343- as colour of the year, a decision that has thrilled enthusiasts of bringing the outdoors in, including all of us here at Haymes Paint!
