The Art of Micro-Zoning an Open Plan Space

It’s no surprise that we love open plan spaces so much, they encourage collaboration and conversation, remove the feeling of closedness and have been said to foster inspiring ideas and innovations in workplaces.

With the move towards open plan living in residential and commercial spaces, it has never been more important to understand how to effectively zone a space without using physical brick and mortar. As much as open plan living has its many benefits, its always a good idea to have ways to split up a space that are adaptable and easy to implement.

Colour is one of the easiest ways to create a separation in a space without physically closing it off. The Cohabitate palette from The Colour Library Volume 11 – Colour Conscience is all about using colour to create spaces that foster conversation and togetherness, while still allowing a space to have multiple breakout areas that can serve a multipurpose.

This palette sees pastels become the new neutrals, featuring light, airy and breezy sorbet shades that invigorate and uplift a space. These shades complement one another while still being contrasting enough to be able to show separation in an open space.
