How Good Design Can Make A Difference

The re-edit of our spring colour forecast, ‘Colour Conscience’, focuses on using colour in a conscious way that encourages mindfulness in design, and how we use and adopt colour palettes in the home.

The original edit of the Contribute palette created the ultimate kitchen space, showing how beautiful design and environmentally conscious choices can easily co-exist. This edit shows how this same adaptable palette can be used to create the ultimate energy saving, low tech zone that makes for a quiet and restful bedroom.

The palette features rich and inviting colours combined with mixed textures like timber, linen and leather. Although the palette is monochromatic, it is not cold or minimalist, and instead embraces the natural shapes, colours and textures of our very own Australian landscape.

The palettes connection with nature through the tones and materials creates a warm space that feels peaceful and secure. Incorporating natural elements into our living spaces also subconsciously empowers us to make better decisions about our environmental impact.

Timber is showcased in this palette, a natural and sustainable material that is also aesthetically beautiful, and has been utilised for the bedhead, flooring and desktop.

Energy saving products like the lighting used celebrates great design, while still contributing to a lesser impact on the environment. Function no longer has to be prioritised over form, with the availability of products that provide both!
